Why Do Some Bike Businesses Fail And Others Succeed?

This is a very good question and you should be asking yourself "why?" before you start your bike business.

In the last 6 years of running my bike business and our Network, I have seen many new businesses start up. In that time I have seen businesses grow above and beyond, while some sit still barely hanging on, entrepreneurs with some customers and some revenue skimp along for months or even years and few have come to a complete stop! their reason for failure is sometimes the same. Self-sabotage through extremely poor decision making. To be fair most mobile bike businesses have grown where in other industries your chances of susses when starting your own business for the first time is less than 30%

  • Understanding of your customer is imperative to your success; You will encounter every type of customer and their bikes, how you deal with their needs is how they view your business. (Customers are what makes or brakes your business)
  • Unique value; By offering a unique service, with customer care, customers feel they have had value in your service.
  • Communicate; Listen to your customers and learn how to communicate better by Knowing how to communicate your message in a clear, concise and compelling manner.
  • Success breeds success; "For example, those looking at starting a bike business may be more interested in joining our Network as it was started by an entrepreneur who started a company in a good industry and year if they believe (justifiably given the evidence) that this track record increases the likelihood of success,"
  • Determination; Making the right decision and knowing how to resolve a wrong decision, by gaining the skills necessary to do so. Entrepreneurs who succeed spend time with personal development.
  • Business ideas; You may have the best business idea and ability to make it happen, but many fail because of their own dysfunction.
Your business image and skills along with the above will determine your business to Succeed or fail. Working out the back of a old van or car does not give the professional image of a business that a customer would use your services. Those who have a fully equipped professional mobile workshop, sign written and running their business full time are the ones who have grown their business above and beyond, by offering a service to suit their customers need's.

New business start ups need to move swiftly without spending tons of cash to figure out their business model.

Being the founder, which makes me the leader, I still have to be prepared to make dissensions and changes. I do make mistakes and I have to wake up to realize it’s my baby, learning from my mistakes, for example; if I am not getting my message across I look at my ability at gaining the skills necessary to do so.

If you bang your head 3 times and you do it again, you have not learnt!
